"Palouse Vistas" Show

During December, I painted in my studio almost all day, everyday, to create new pieces for my upcoming shows. My paintings of Palouse landscapes, including the plein air studies, were featured at the Clymer Museum of Art in Ellensburg, WA, during January. Please visit my website to view a sample of my featured works.

Show dates: September 12 through October 10.
Opening & Awards: Thursday, September 17, 5-8 p.m.
Location: American Art Company, 1126 Broadway Plaza, Tacoma, WA.

Please visit my new portfolio page to view more paintings of chickens from this year.

"A New Day" at OPA Western Regional

A New Day, 2009, oil, 6"x6", sold.

This painting was juried into the Oil Painters of America Western Regional Show at Howard/Mandville Gallery, Kirkland, WA. The show was up throughout August.

I attended the opening reception, followed by demonstration by the juror of awards, Jeffrey Watts, and a series of seminars for professional oil painters, throughout the day. It was definitely worth seeing the show in person and meet the other members of Oil Painters from different parts of the U.S. and Canada.

Another great news is that "A New Day" found "a new home."

Quick Draw

I participated in a Friday Quick Draw along with 21 other artists.

I painted "Rooster no. 3" (8"x10") on panel.
This is the finished painting after one hour.
All the Quick Draw pieces were auctioned in the same evening.
A part of profits from this auction will go toward Western Art Association's scholarships like the one I received two years ago.
