Windrows No. 3

Oil on linen on panel, 8 x 10 inches -- $200 (unframed) -- Click here to buy

I painted this in the corner of a hay field that belongs to my friends near Cle Elum, WA. They were just about fluff the hay as soon as the machine was fixed. So I took advantage of the timing, and painted inside the field. I was finishing up the painting, Herold started fluffing from the other side of the field. So I walked my easel back to my car by the field, took my palette knife, and fluffed up more colors on top of the brush strokes to add texture and height in the windrows.
