Stuffed Elephant
Oil on linen on panel, 6 x 6 in. -- Click Here to Buy
I visited my artist friend, Joey, and painted with her and another friend Susan. By the time I arrived, they had already set up still life models, and begun painting. So I set up my Pochade box, a potable easel, on a tripod between them, and painted what was already on the table: a stuffed elephant in a warm white light. The room had a nice north light from the tall windows, and it created interesting moody lighting. It was different from my regular studio lighting, but it was a great exercise for value study with some color.
