I painted this in Murphys, CA, just after a stormy day and stormy afternoon. I was taking Kathleen Dunphy's advanced plein air workshop during the first week of November. I painted this after the class was dismissed due to the thunderstorm. I almost drove back to my hotel room, but decided to turn back and do another quick painting to capture this amazing light.
