Sophie in the Fall Foliage

Sophie, the Delaware chicken, is one of our new chicks we got last year. She has white plumage, with dark gray accents on her cape, wing tips, and tail. She's been a great layer, and lays an egg almost everyday. She is a very curious girl, and loves to explore the front yard. She loves foraging in the fall foliage. I focused on creating variation in her white feathers, including reflected light of golden leaves on her chest. I also kept the edges soft. This is my favorite piece in my chicken painting series.
