Teanaway River

Oil on linen on panel, 6 x 8 in. --

I found a nice spot to paint under the bridge when I was taking a detour from Teanaway to Ellensburg, WA. I was just taking reference photos from the bridge, and decided to walk down to the river side anyway. It's sheltered from all types of weather hazards, like heat, wind, and rain. After painting at the Teanaway Grange, three of us painted there in the afternoon, staying out of the heat. It was one of the hottest days in July. The photo below is me, trying to stay cool during painting.

June, the follow artist, was even painting with her easel and her feet soaked in the water. I called it "Fly Painting."
