I've recently started a new body of work called "Creature Comforts of the Northwest" in addition to my ongoing painting series of "Dream of Flight." I saw this cute Steller's Jay at Mt. Rainer National Park last fall. Initially, I drew this with charcoal on paper. But I hated it because it shows no color of the bird! I finally decided to paint this jay with oil colors.
